Healthy Ageing SIG
The Healthy Ageing Special Interest Group (SIG) has been established to bring together public health professionals with an interest in promoting health and wellbeing across the life course and supporting people to age well. The SIG provides a collaborative space for members to share learning and best practice, strengthen public health advocacy, and address the social, structural and health inequalities that shape people’s experiences of ageing across the four nations of the UK.
The SIG focuses on public health approaches to healthy ageing, including health promotion and prevention across the life course, the prevention and management of later‑life conditions such as frailty and dementia, and action to reduce inequalities in ageing. It also aims to support policy development, knowledge exchange and innovation, and to build skills and expertise across the public health workforce through education and training.
The Healthy Ageing SIG reports to the Faculty’s Health Improvement Committee.
